Kia ora! I'm Loren (with an ‘o’), and that weird face up in the corner is a portrait that an old friend did of me with her eyes shut.

Currently based in Ōtautahi Christchurch, New Zealand, I’ve been focussing on my craft as a film editor for the past 8 years. Now with years of experience storytelling, I've embraced the role of directing.

My journey into film began with a detour, suggested by my high school careers advisor. She steered me away from photography and told me to become a beekeeper (I’m deathly allergic). So naturally, we compromised.

Since then, I've dedicated myself to documentaries. I have a love for beautiful imagery of this world and those who inhabit it. I have spent the majority of my career shining a light on marginalised voices, communities & social issues with a sensitive approach.

I’m deeply drawn to exploring the quirks of human nature and shared experiences. I have some kind of strange magnet drawing me to eccentric characters and extraordinary, unconventional narratives.

Find my CV here, and don’t be scared to get in touch about your next project!
